reflection on the project

the project to complete 17 prompts was set in the communications element of the diagnostic course. I wave some experience in this but I have many focused on fine art before so this was an interesting and exciting first project was it was something I was not use to. to start of the project I wanted three ted talks from people in the communication field which allows my work to take a more playful and expermentive shape with it. I definitely feel this think with hands way of working is able to be seen through the prompts from the mark making tools to the use of cardboard on other prompts such as make a path. If I was to add more research before starting the project I would look tonto more techniques of using recycled materials as this was the main material used in my project besides to paper. to continue this project further I want to stick with using recycled materials as its an important way I want to work but I want to also make the way I use the materials sleeker as it will make the designs more professional. the prompt I will put more work into for the next element of this project is what is something that is not visual but isn't. the idea I came up with intrigued me and inspired me but I just feel it can be taken slightly further. the breakthrough moments in answering the 17 taks came when I stepped back from forcing ideas through an allowed myself to experiment and almost muck around with materials and concepts. there were times where the prompts where to focused on an end result and I feel my apache could of been changed to e slightly broader. this was the case for distort something. I had an idea so fixed in my head that when I was trying to experiment they felt to confined to a final outcome. a key element of my working process that I feel is going well and what I want to continue to use is the ability to be open minded about each task and not to confine myself to a singular discipline or medium. something I want to change or develop when going into the next stages of this project and foundation course is the roughness of my work as I would like it to be more professional and prosise. overall I feel the 17 prompts were answered with a high level of execution and it was a good exercise to make me think more practically about my artistic practice.
